Reporting to the Operations Director, the Robotics Specialist/Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating and daily management of the robotics surgical service program. The Robotics Specialist/Project Manager will develop and engage a highly skilled and high functioning cohesive team by providing hands-on support and mentoring members of the robotics surgery team to achieve optimal patient outcomes and optimizing available resources. The Robotics Specialist/Project Manager will also identify and respond appropriately to both internal and external customer needs by maximizing the utilization of available resources and actively participating in data collection, management, and analysis of key quality indicators. This position will also lead and coordinate project management activities assigned by the direction of the Director of Operations. 

 

In collaboration with other Program Leaders, the Robotics Specialist/ Project Manager for the OR and Related Services is responsible for:
•    Manages daily robotic surgery which includes sending out availability of robotic slots, scheduling for discrepancies and proper robotic block utilization
•    Acts as a clinical resource for new surgeons and the surgical team
•    Establishes training pathways and clinical competencies using current evidence, guidelines, accreditation standards, and organizational policies and procedures
•    Ensures that necessary personnel, equipment, and supplies are available for robotic procedures
•    Maintains accurate preference cards and collaborates with team leaders
•    Provides input for annual budget for Capital Equipment relates to the Robotics Program
•    Coordinates and tracks routine preventative maintenance on robotic systems including in-services to the Sterile Processing Department regarding cleaning and sterilization of Robotic instruments and accessories
•    Managing and overseeing the implementation of assigned projects for ORRS
•    Organizing and chairing of meetings, taking minutes, preparing briefing notes and presentations.

 

Qualifications/Skills
•    Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master’s Degree completed or in progress
•    Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of ON

•    OR Certification Required
•    4-5 years OR Experience preferred
•    CPN-C Certification
•    Experience in Robotic Surgery preferred
•    Formal training in Robotic Utilization preferred
•    Collaborative approach to teaching/learning, conflict management
•    Demonstrated teaching, team-building and leadership skills
•    Demonstrated ability to effectively make and manage change
•    Expert knowledge, complex decision-making skills and clinical competencies for expanded practice
•    Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills
•    Proficiency in basic computer applications with the ability to learn new platforms
•    Proficiency with data collection and basic analysis
•    Strong presentation skills and ability to develop realistic project timelines
•    Able to provide Inter-professional team clarity on project goals and timelines to ensure success
•    Experience with MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint required
